the nuance

Wow. I haven’t posted in here in a while, but there is something about this packaging that really inspired me.

HBO brings back the vintage car to promote the hit show Boardwalk Empire. Love the show and I love the concept! It’s gotten me excited about it…What about you?

Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

I wonder if he knows they have these?!? Probably doesn’t care. I know there are hoards of rabid pre-teens eager to brush their baby teeth to the crooning of “The Biebs.”

old news newer. hotter. pinker.

Anybody ever notice (or care) that T-Mobile literally got a younger and sexier brunette to replace Catherine Zeta-Jones in their commercials? The new chick is Carly Foulkes a model who’s being making waves in the industry.

Ever since Ms. Zeta admitted to being bipolar guess that’s not a good look.

The big hair. The big earrings. The big butt. The elaborate trendy dances in a line. Two insanely hot music icons are more similar than one usually notices. Many of you know my theory on the Jennifer Lopez versus Beyonce’ concept but for those of you that don’t—let me explain.
J.Lo was Beyonce’ before Beyonce’ was Beyonce’ (ducks to avoid whatever is thrown). Hear me out!…I mean if you think about it these two music divas are so extremely similar in the way they are marketing to the public, of course hardcore fans will notice the many nuances, but to the average eye they have very similar public images. Coincidence that when J.Lo announced she was expecting her first child in 2001 (after years of solo success) that Beyonce’s solo career sky rocketed? I think not. And now that J.Lo has risen from the ashes like Phoenix and is fully back in spotlight I would imagine Team B can’t help but notice the obvious similarities in their overall image and are doing everything to offer consumers a clear difference. Now don’t get me wrong I think it’s pretty obvious on which one of these ladies is more musically inclined but I’m just making a broad statement about image here. This includes endorsements, video styles, wardrobe, and the like.
As to not make this post too lengthy I’ll present the evidence:
Exhibit A-Loreal: Beyonce’ vs. J.Lo
Exhibit B- Fragrance: Beyonce’ vs. J.Lo (peep it)
Exhibit C- Music video: Beyonce’ v.s. J.Lo (sand, big hair, tribal dance scene, whoa…)
Even as I was constructing this post it still blew me away at how similar these two pop sensations have become and as I was researching I would often get them mistaken..especially if seen from the back haha. Just for nostalgia’s sake I’d like to cap this off with the Pepsi ad featuring them both in 2006.
Now off to my day job. Enjoy.

As if I didn’t already love the store—they go and have one of the coolest festival stands ever. Way to do guerilla marketing.
All Saints.
Wonder if they got the idea from here.
